Description

Still married to Sandy, have two daughters and six grandchildren.

Overview

At the present time I am involved in a number of business enterprises as follows:

  • Owner and Managing Director of Corporate Services Network (CSN) and International Services Network (ISN) – two, third party administration companies specialising in claims management and group salary continuance for the insurance industry.  My General Manager (son-in-law) assists me with the management of 60 staff in this business in the Sydney CBD.  Sandy is also a Director and manages the finances and payroll for the company.
    • Also have Emergency Assistance businesses running 24/7 – CSN Assist and ISN Assist.
  • Owner of a large scale farming enterprise (10,000 acres) involved in Angus cattle production, joining over 1,100 cows annually.  Our Farm Manager (son-in-law) manages a staff of 3 to run the day-to-day operations.  The farm is near Mudgee in NSW.  We live here and go to Sydney for business each second week or so.  Satellite communications help a lot.

1996 – PRESENT     Claims Management, Emergency Assistance and Security

CSN was established in 1996 to facilitate the beginning of an International SOS (ISOS) Emergency Assistance Agency in Australia. By the end of 1998 the agency managed over 75% of the ISOS business in Australia.  With the purchase of ISOS by AEA in 1998 the sale of the agency to AEA was negotiated and I concentrated on the role of Regional Security Director on a full-time basis. The security role had been an on-going additional business entity since 1997 and saw extensive consulting work on emergency response planning with over 40 international corporations in Asia. I also flew into Jakarta in May 1998 to act as the mission controller for the evacuation of over 2,600 people during the Indonesian riots.

As an additional business venture CSN was approached in January 1998 to undertake the claims handling of specialised Japanese inbound travel and claims for cashless medical services. From this the business developed further to include Australian based Japanese medical claims and then many Accident & Health claims for various underwriting agencies and major insurers.

ISN was established in 2000 to manage the Expatriate, Inpatriate, Loss of Income and Travel Claims for many top 100 companies on behalf of Australia’s largest broker. These include major banks, financial, communications, mining, food processing, engineering and service companies.

CSN and ISN now handle in excess of 30,000 claims per year.  The organisation is now a well trusted third party administrator in the Australian market.  It carries out work for major underwriters at the request of several leading brokers.  We deal with over 15 general insurers and 11 Life insurers in Australia.  We also handle a varied portfolio for ten syndicates of Lloyds of London.

CSN is also responsible for the day to day administration of a number of large group salary continuance programs.  In this we manage over 260 plans with premium collection in excess of $50 million per year.
